The school holidays have arrived and some of us might soon be planning to spend some time away while others may be looking forward to a few weeks at home.

Things have been busy – if a little different – here at Norfolk Property Lettings and Management since lockdown began to ease, with strong demand from tenants for rental homes.

As such, we are always interested in hearing from prospective landlords.

These may be homeowners or second homeowners who are considering letting vacant properties rather than trying to sell them at the moment, as well as those who are opting to let and rent rather than sell and buy.

If you have been mulling this over then please do call us and we can give you an idea of valuation and how our flexible, bespoke service might work for you.

You can then decide if this is a direction you might like to move in.

Our office remains a safe place for both tenants and landlords to visit (with Perspex screens, hand sanitiser and fewer members of staff in the space etc) but we do ask that you make an appointment first.

This is to ensure visitor numbers are limited at any one time and also because some of our team members are currently working from home.

With a new cloud-based phone system and remote access to our system, however, we are able to maintain our 24-hour service and to respond quickly when required.

The increasing use of video viewings is also working well for us: we now create film tours of each available rental property to give people the option of viewing from a distance if they choose.

Since the pandemic began, we have successfully let several homes this way. In fact, with an increased use of DocuSign as well, all stages of the rental process can now be managed from a distance.

The vast majority of students have now found their new homes ready for the start of the next academic year, but we do expect to hear from a few “stragglers” over the coming weeks and will let them know if we have anywhere suitable for them.

We are seeing high interest at the moment from “sharers” and can often also find them ideal homes, places with the right living space to accommodate a group of professionals under one roof.

One final thought, is that we would like to remind our landlords there is now new electrical safety guidance.

Do call us if you are unsure about how this affects you and we can offer you all the guidance and support you need.
