It’s that time of year again where students are considering where to live for the next academic year.
It always seems very early, given that most of them won’t be moving in until early autumn or possibly the summer.
And, with snow still on the ground and temperatures low, it is hard for many of us to be thinking as far ahead as the August, September or October at the moment.
Traditionally, however, this is the when students start looking that far ahead and considering various rental homes.
Many, especially first year students, will be planning to live in on-site student accommodation or residences affiliated with the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) or City College Norwich.
And, of course, we now also have many purpose-built student accommodation blocks in the city which take residents from all educational establishments.
But there is still high demand for traditional shared student houses, especially from second and third year students.
Most of these will be within easy reach of UEA, NUA and City College, and will be in parts of Norwich favoured by students for their access to the city, shops and pubs etc.
Here at Norfolk Property Management & Lettings we always have a good selection of student properties to offer.
These range from Victorian houses in the Golden Triangle, such as this one on Warwick Street, to modern homes, slightly further from the city but closer to UEA, such as this one.
Students have had a particularly hard time this past year.
The hope is that by the autumn they will have been able to return properly to full-time, face-to-face teaching and are back to enjoying the whole student experience.
The pandemic has affected all of us in so many different ways and we are certainly seeing property owners whose plans have also changed for one reason or another in recent times.
If this is you, and you now find yourself with a property that you think could let well to students, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
We can discuss it with you, give you the benefit of our lengthy experience in this field, and talk you through the various options and their processes to give you a better understanding.
