New Student Accommodation

An on-site gym, a games area and a state-of-the-art cinema room are just some of the highlights of new city-centre student accommodation being launched in Norwich this week.

Crown Place on St Stephen’s Street is being developed by Crown Student Living to offer stylish, contemporary rooms to more than 700 students.

CRM Students are the letting agents with the support of Norfolk Property Lettings & Management.

The development, which will be ready for the start of the academic year in September 2019, will include 705 en suite bedrooms, explains Mike Claxton, managing director of Norwich-based Norfolk Property Lettings & Management.

These will be available as single studios and “twodios” for pairs, as well as duplex accommodation and “cluster” apartments for groups.

Show studios displaying the various room types will be completed by mid-January and interested students are invited to register an interest by leaving their details.

“Each individual room will have its own private bathroom and each studio or cluster will have kitchen facilities too – but perhaps most exciting of all are the other facilities,” Mike says.

“Crown Place will be like a 21st century student village, with beautifully designed social spaces and free use of the gym, games room, cinema room, music practice room and laundry.

“There will also be student study spaces; up to 200Mbps free wifi and broadband throughout; and a private dining area for students to enjoy.”

Situated in the heart of Norwich, close to shops, restaurants and bars, Crown Place is a bus ride from the University of East Anglia and a short walk from Norwich University of the Arts and City College Norwich.

The cutting-edge accommodation block will have 24-hour CCTV, secure access and on-site maintenance.

“The accommodation is being completed to a very high specification to bring today’s students the lifestyle they require to focus on their studies and gain much-needed rest,” Mike says.

“The cluster apartments are also great for making new friends and creating a community feel.”

Prices start at £135 a week per student, with utility bills inclusive.

“Crown Place will offer the ideal combination of affordability, private space and opportunities for socialising,” Mike adds.
