Norwich has come second in a nationwide survey looking at the healthiest places to live in the UK.

The East Anglian city, which regularly tops national lists of the best and happiest places to live once, was one of 30 cities to be considered.

Insurance company Protectivity carried out the research, taking a variety of lifestyle factors, health facilities and other amenities.

It looked at numbers of gyms, fitness centres, green spaces, spas, vegan restaurants and even psychologists.

Giving them an overall score out of 100, the aim was to reveal the best cities to live in for a healthy lifestyle.

While, Portsmouth came out on top as the UK’s healthiest city, Norwich took second place with a score of 56.

The survey revealed the fine city has more than 190 vegan option restaurants and 22 health food shops across its 52.6 sq km.

According to the survey, being healthy is more than just eating well and exercising regularly, it requires permanent lifestyle and mindset changes.

Numbers of museums and parks etc were therefore also included.
